Gorgon head (Medusa head) from the Grüner Pütz near Nettersheim
 

Two corner crowning stones of the Grüner Pütz spring were probably decorated with Medusa heads to keep evil away from this water catchment. One of the two stones was found during excavations in the Grüner Pütz.
